Raised in the file room.
My dad has been an appraiser for over 45 years. I started working in his office at 16 — through high school, through college, then as his behind-the-scenes guy for years before getting licensed as a Certified Residential Appraiser in 2018. Back then, every file was a folder moving between baskets: one for research, one for comps, one for jobs ready to inspect. Old-school — but you always knew where every job stood.
