We may update this policy from time to time; if a change is material, we will let account owners know by email or in the app before it takes effect.

Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes how you may and may not use Appraisal Ally. It supplements our Terms of Service; capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms. Breaking this policy can lead to suspension or termination of your account.

1. Use the Service Lawfully and Honestly

You agree that you will not, and will not let anyone else:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal, or in a way that infringes someone else's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.
  • Upload or store content you don't have the right to use, or content that is fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise abusive.
  • Misrepresent your identity, your business, or the source of an appraisal, invoice, or message generated through the Service.
  • Use the Service to facilitate appraisal fraud, value manipulation, or any conduct that violates USPAP, state licensing law, or lender requirements. You remain solely responsible for the integrity of your appraisal work.

2. Respect Other Tenants and the Platform's Security

Appraisal Ally is multi-tenant: many appraisal businesses share the same infrastructure, with strict per-company isolation enforced by database row-level security. You will not:

  • Attempt to access, read, or modify data belonging to any company or user other than your own, or attempt to bypass row-level security, authentication, authorization, or tenant-isolation controls.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure, except through good-faith security research reported as described in Section 5.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code, structure, or other customers' data from the Service, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
  • Introduce malware, or interfere with or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or other users — including through denial-of-service attacks.

3. Email and Notifications

The Service sends email on your behalf — for example, client portal invitations, invoice and payment notifications, and appraisal status updates. You are responsible for making sure those messages go only to people you have a legitimate appraisal relationship with, and that they comply with anti-spam laws such as the CAN-SPAM Act. You will not use the Service's email features to send unsolicited bulk email or marketing blasts, to forge sender information, or to send to purchased or harvested lists.

4. Fair Use of Resources

Reasonable-use expectations exist so the Service stays fast and reliable for everyone. You will not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service in a way that exceeds documented limits or places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure. We may contact you about, throttle, or limit usage that materially degrades the Service for others.

5. Security Research and Coordinated Disclosure

We welcome good-faith security reports. If you find a vulnerability, email support@appraisalally.com with steps to reproduce it and how to reach you. Please do not access or change data that isn't yours, do not run automated tooling against production without arranging it with us first, and give us a reasonable chance to fix the issue before disclosing it publicly. We will acknowledge valid reports and work in good faith to remediate.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you think someone is misusing the Service, email support@appraisalally.com with the account or content involved, a description of what you observed and when, any supporting evidence, and how we can reach you. We review reports promptly and may warn the user, remove content, suspend, or terminate the account, and report unlawful activity to authorities where appropriate.

7. Consequences of Violations

Depending on severity, a violation of this AUP may lead to a warning, removal of offending content, suspension of features or of your account, or termination of the Service. Where a problem is actively harming the Service, our users, or third parties, we may act first and notify you afterward; otherwise we will try to give you notice and a chance to fix it.
